The Barchester Arbour Lodge Care Home project involved the construction of a single-storey brick extension with both flat and pitched roofs over a 10-month period. The project took place in Marple, Stockport, and included the refurbishment and modernization of a specialist hospital. The extension aimed to expand the hospital’s facilities and provide a more comfortable environment for its residents.

The brickwork of the extension featured cills and feature heads, and specialist entry systems were incorporated to safeguard the staff & residents. Additionally, extensive attenuation and drainage works were carried out as part of the project. The result was a modern, state-of-the-art care home that provides top-quality care and comfort to its residents.

The project was awarded the Barchester Award for the Best Project in the North. This award recognizes excellence in design, construction, and delivery of care homes that provide exceptional care to residents while creating a comfortable, safe, and supportive environment for them.

The award is a testament to the project team’s dedication and hard work in creating a modern, state-of-the-art care home that meets the needs of its residents. This recognition also sets a high standard for future projects in the care home sector in the North of England.
