The Not So Short Walk Summits Snowdon

After six unforgettable days, hundreds of kilometres and one incredible final climb, the Short Construction team has officially completed The Not So Short Walk raising money for local charity Autisk.

The challenge was completed by Adrian Short, Ged Rodgers and Max Webster with great support from Darren Peatfield, Charlotte Phillips, Richard Ikin and Craig Phillips along the way.  Testing their fitness, resilience and determination, the team made the journey from Short Construction’s head office in Cheadle all the way to the summit of Snowdon.

What began as an ambitious 184km trek through Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales became a powerful show of support for children and families who rely on the services Autisk provides.  Throughout the challenge, supporters joined sections of the walk, donated generously, and followed the team’s progress across social media and fundraising platforms.

The final day saw the team ascent to the summit of Snowdon, marking the end of an unforgettable challenge for an incredibly important cause.

“The team at Short Construction would like to thank every individual, business, sponsor, friend and family member who supported The Not So Short Walk,” said Managing Director Adrian Short. “The challenge pushed us further than we ever expected, both physically and mentally, but the incredible support we received along the way kept us going. From the stunning coastal scenery and rolling countryside to the visits from supporters en-route, every moment reminded us why we were taking on this challenge.

“Together, we’ve already raised more than £12,000 for Autisk, but we still have work to do to reach our £25,000 target. Every donation will help Autisk continue providing life-changing support for local children, young people and families, as well as helping create sensory-led facilities designed around the needs of SEND children.”

The challenge was organised by Short Construction to raise funds for Autisk, a Stockport-based charity that supports autistic children, young people and families through sensory-safe social groups, workshops, advice and specialist support services. Funds raised through The Not So Short Walk will help support the construction of sensory-led facilities designed around the needs of SEND children while helping secure Autisk’s long-term future.

The Not So Short Walk may be complete, but the impact of every donation will continue long after the final step was taken.
